Dragging my feet to Langkawi

So, my exams are over. Here comes Langkawi.

I've been dreading this day when I actually have to slave myself for debate. So much to read and so little time. I still can't believe that I'm in the first team. Still can't believe that all eyes would be on the new girl in the big boys club. Still trying to put some sense into this soapy brain of mine(yes, it is filled with foam and suds).

Anyway, I wanted to document this somewhere for future laughing material. "My team will win the All-Asians Debating Competition 2006 in Langkawi!" Now, if I say this a hundred times, it would probably come true.. make that one o o o just in case.

I went out with Kak Sue and the hi-lite of the outing was when we sat down on the bench, resting our tired feet, talking about our two-hour browsing in Watsons for hair, facial, body, lip care products. And then it occured to me that, even though I'm not much of a shopper, 1) not yet a money making machine 2) shop by the shopping list in my head instead of carnal instinct, I purchased quite a number of sensible items.

Here are my findings, reasoned and calculated
1) Olive Shampoo - I think olive oil has many good attributes. Why for the hair? Well, purely sentimental reason actually. When I was younger, I had chicken pox and I didn't wash my hair for days, weeks even. My hair got so tangled and mousy, it looked like an abandoned bird's nest. So what my mom did was, she used pure olive oil to sort out the mess. I noticed a remarkable improvement in the condition of my hair and I swear it glowed. It's been years and after the torment for the sake of fashion(my chemical affairs), I long for that childhood/ish pleasure of seeing my hair shine. So, that's why I got the shampoo and I must say, I love my hair.

2) Papaya+Mango Exfoliating soap and body lotion - Well, I love mangoes.. Can't say the same for papaya though. But, I read that those two are good for the skin. Mango for mosturising, papaya for dissolving dead skin cells. Will devote some time in memorizing facts in exact. Scrubbing is my latest comfort routine. I scrub til I can scrub no more.

3) Facial Cleansing Gel - I don't think it has any particular fruit in it. But, I haven't been using it long enough to notice if my face has become any more decent than it already is.

4) Sunscreen SPF50 with lip balm - Umm.. Perhaps they use bananas. I am definitely going to spend a lot of time on the beach. I know some people are going to say that with my complexion, what's a few hours out in the sun going to hurt? Well, this reminds me of when I went to watch the motoGP race in Sepang two years ago. It was only a two day excursion but I was almost unrecognizable. When I went back to college, my friends were crying, "Ana, what happened to you?" Uh... the sun happened. But, they had the right to get all excited for they didn't know the details. Nobody was supposed to know of my little adventure. And that's another story to tell.

So, from my shopping experience I realize that I am actually a concern consumer. Despite my sometimes uncaring attitude towards shopping (ask me what I rather do instead), I do have fun in browsing and choosing the best one. And it goes to almost everything. Hmm.. I wish men are sold in retail stores, you can return them if they are spoiled and burn the money on chocolates and ice-cream.
